United States Correspnodent | Based just outside of Philadelphia in the United States, Brian Haughton is an American who received his BA and MA in political science from Villanova University with minors in history and Russian, as well as a certificate in international politics. He also spent a semester at the University of Freiburg in Germany studying the functioning of the European Union and EU-US relations. His many interests include the transatlantic relationship, American foreign and defense policy, international relations, European security, Ukraine and the broader post-Soviet space, German and Nordic politics, revolutions, and the history and development of classical liberalism. His first language is English, and he is proficient in Russian with some skills in German and Swedish. His work mostly focuses on bridging the gap between the United States and Europe and promoting a stronger transatlantic alliance.
