Would you like become an editor or correspondent for Euro Prospects? This page outlines the necessary information you’d need in order to make a decision regarding whether, in what capacity, and how much you’d like to contribute to EP.
Level of commitment: It is expected that editors write at least one article every two months (topics are their choice upon approval) + be available to peer-review draft articles, normally those that cover topics related to their academic background or correspondent position. Articles are usually between 1000-2000 words and all work is remote. Beyond these expectations, the level of commitment you’d offer by joining EP is largely in your control (ie., you have control over your frequency of publication beyond once per two months and have discretion on the topics you write about). The flexibility with the level of commitment is because everyone’s participation in EP is voluntary and part-time, and hence unpaid, due to being fully independent and non-profit.
Positions on offer
- Political/Policy Correspondents are in charge of specific subject areas and are expected to be reasonably confident in their chosen topic (eg. ‘Correspondent for Transatlantic Affairs’). Those who are interested are able to suggest the subject area they’d wish to cover (there is no specific list to choose from). More than two people can be correspondents for the same subject and the bulk of your article topics should correlate with your chosen subject of correspondence (same with the country correspondent position).
- Country Correspondents are in charge of subjects relating to their chosen country (usually their country of origin). Non-European countries/regions may be available upon request.
- Other: EP is also searching for individuals interested in being Social Media Marketeers (for running the EP social media accounts on Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and Reddit) or Graphic Designers (primarily for creating article thumbnails).
